Semen Kupang's profit up

JAKARTA (JP): The East Nusa Tenggara-based state-owned cement company PT Semen Kupang raked in Rp 4.6 billion (US$2.1 million) in profits during 1994 from the sales of 172,452 tons of cement, passing their target of Rp 4.5 billion, .

The company's president, M. Satar Taba, was quoted by Antara as saying yesterday that the company this year will finish the first phase of its expansion project, with an investment of Rp 5 billion, which will enable it to produce 252,000 tons annually.

Next year, Satar said, the company's annual production capacity will double to 552,000 tons after the second phase of its expansion project is completed. (rid)
