Semen Indonesia supports construction of People's Schools in four provinces

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is supporting the acceleration of People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat) construction by supplying materials for educational facilities and dormitories in four provinces. Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni said the support is provided through the company’s business portfolio unit, PT Varia Usaha Beton (VUB), for the construction of People’s Schools in Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, and North Maluku. “Education is an important foundation in building a superior generation as a pillar of the nation’s future,” Vita said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Friday. She said the construction of People’s Schools requires quality, reliable, and sustainable building materials so that projects are completed on time with construction standards that are safe and comfortable for students. According to Vita, the company is contributing through the supply of ready-mix concrete for the main building structures as well as precast concrete for supporting infrastructure of the People’s Schools. Since December 2025, VUB has supplied 28,582 cubic metres of ready-mix concrete to support the construction of People’s Schools. In addition, VUB has supplied 52,170 metres of piles, 27,195 square metres of paving blocks, 1,544 units of U-ditch, 2,502 units of U-ditch covers, 2,766 units of panel fences, and 524 units of columns. The precast concrete products supplied by VUB include square piles, U-ditch or U-shaped precast concrete, U-ditch covers, box culverts or box-shaped precast concrete, panel fences, paving blocks, and kerbstones. Vita said the supply of construction materials will continue until all project work is completed. To ensure smooth distribution, VUB is supported by an operational network of 35 batching plants in 26 cities across 11 provinces in Indonesia. “With a widespread operational network, VUB has the capability to support large-scale projects quickly and efficiently,” she said. She added that VUB is also ready to build on-site plants at project locations to ensure the smooth supply of construction materials according to construction needs. The People’s School is a government priority programme to expand access to education for the community through the construction of educational facilities and dormitories, targeted to reach thousands of students in various regions of Indonesia.
