Semen Indonesia (SMGR) Considers Share Buyback: Here’s Why
PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR), also known as SIG, is considering a share buyback amid changing conditions in the domestic stock market.
The company is assessing the proposed corporate action by taking into account its condition and regulatory requirements, as part of its commitment to good corporate governance and its efforts to create added value for shareholders.
Semen Indonesia President Director Indrieffouny Indra said the company was closely monitoring developments across the domestic stock market and was ready to take strategic steps, including a share buyback.
The proposed buyback is being carefully assessed to support the company’s performance and protect shareholders’ interests.
Amid volatility in the domestic stock market, SIG said it remained confident in its strong fundamentals and its ability to improve performance and achieve long-term growth.
“At the same time, this indicates to investors that the current share price does not necessarily reflect SIG’s true fundamentals,” he said in an official statement on Thursday (29 October 2026).
SMGR offers a range of innovative building-material solutions to meet diverse construction needs. Its operations are also supported by an extensive production and distribution network, enabling it to reach even remote areas.
“These strengths provide a solid foundation for SIG to improve its performance and achieve sustainable growth,” he said.
