Semen Indonesia Expands Soil Stabilisation Business With Taiheiyo Corporation Partnership
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has signed a business collaboration agreement for soil stabilisation services with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, a Japanese building materials company.
Indonesia’s varied soil topography presents a significant challenge for construction development, requiring robust infrastructure capable of adapting to local natural conditions across different geographical regions.
The collaboration between the two Asian building materials companies aims to address industry construction challenges whilst creating new market opportunities to support growth. Soil stabilisation is a specialised material designed to compact soft soils, including expansive soils, peat soils, organically rich soils, marine clays, and flaky clay soils.
This soil stabilisation business partnership represents an expansion of the existing cooperation between SIG and Taiheiyo Cement Corporation. The collaboration will broaden the portfolio of products and business offerings.
“SIG understands the diverse construction needs of our customers, including pre-construction ground preparation to ensure long-term durability of buildings and roads. The partnership with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation in the soil stabilisation business is a strategic expansion step for SIG to create new market opportunities,” said Indrieffouny in an official statement on Thursday.
This field has become an important area of collaboration, with both companies building experience and mutual trust. Through this multi-stakeholder collaboration, the companies welcome the development of a stronger cooperation framework to reinforce sales structures and expand market opportunities. The companies believe that the synergy of capabilities will accelerate the provision of high-quality solutions that contribute to Indonesia’s infrastructure development and sustainable growth.
