SINGAPORE (Reuter): Sembawang Media Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Sembawang Corp, said yesterday it launched a business unit to sell Internet services to companies.

The company, Contact Sembawang Media, will market Internet and "Intranet" (inter-company and intra-company) products to regional corporations, Sembawang Media said in a statement.

Sembawang Media said Contact had been appointed Netscape Communications Corp's commercial applications partner to market and integrate Netscape's products in Southeast Asia.

The statement said Sembawang Media was currently working with companies in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines to offer its Internet and Intranet products.

The statement said Contact had formed strategic alliances with leading computer vendors such as Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Bay Networks and Hewlett Packard to penetrate both local and regional markets.
