Semarang's Sekolah Rakyat Engages Students in Cultural Preservation Through Traditional Games

Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 1 in Semarang, Central Java, held an educational session on traditional games for 270 students across primary, junior high, and senior high levels on Friday (17/7). The programme aims to introduce and preserve local culture while reducing children’s dependence on gadgets, as well as to train motor skills, build sportsmanship, cooperation, and social interaction. Activities included playing bakiak and learning how to use egrang, with teachers guiding new students in the traditional pastimes.
