JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian, Australian and Japanese companies are
competing for one of the three packages of works worth Rp 47
billion (US$ 21.1 million) for the further development of the
Tanjung Emas port in Semarang, Central Java.
Head of Central Java Transportation Office Gatot Soedjantoko
said Wednesday in Semarang that the bidders include PT PAL of
Indonesia, Konson of Australia and Mitsui, Sumitomo Corp.,
Misoiwi and Tomen Corp. of Japan.
The winner of the bid for the package (package I) will be
decided at the end of May.
He said that the package comprises the supply of two units of
gantry cranes, each with a capacity of 40 tons for each, and a
unit of fire extinguisher.
He said that Package Two of the project worth Rp 6 billion for
the provision of six units of forklift each with a capacity of
two tons and 20 units of trailers, has been won by Tomen Corp. of
Japan.
Package Three worth Rp 2,6 billion for supply of computer
units and telecommunication equipment has been awarded to PT Bina
Reksa Kata.(32)
