Semarang - The Central Java Provincial Government has stated that the repair programme for the Semarang-Godong road section in Grobogan Regency has reached 75 per cent completion.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, in Grobogan on Monday, has set a target for the road to be passable seven days before Eid al-Fitr 2026.

The Semarang-Godong road section was previously severed due to a collapsed embankment in Tinanding Village, Godong District, Grobogan.

He has ensured that repair work on the road will continue to be expedited so that it can be used by holiday travellers during the Eid exodus and return journey in 2026.

To guarantee this, Luthfi made a direct inspection of the current progress in repairing the approximately 60-metre road section.

Work on the road is still at the stage of base layer asphalt and concrete foundation work, though progress has been somewhat hindered due to ongoing seepage from the Tuntang River.

“This will be completed seven days before Eid. We will find a way – what is important is that it becomes solid and passable. After this section is finished, we will immediately move to the regency road that serves as the alternative route,” he said at the site.

Meanwhile, Henggar Budi Anggoro, Head of the Central Java Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (DPUPR), stated that repair work on the severed road section is being conducted around the clock.
