Semarang District Prosecutor's Office Pursues Companies Owing BPJS Employment Contributions
Semarang (ANTARA) - The Semarang District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) has obtained special power of attorney to assist in collecting arrears of contributions to the Social Security Organising Agency for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) from three companies through a lawsuit in the district court.
Head of the Intelligence Section of the Semarang City Prosecutor’s Office, Lilik Haryadi, in Semarang on Thursday, stated that the collection is being carried out through the filing of a simple lawsuit against the three companies.
The Prosecutor’s Office, he said, is representing the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Office in Pemuda and Majapahit, Semarang.
According to him, before filing the lawsuit in court, the prosecutor’s office had also issued warnings and summonses to the three delinquent companies.
“Summoned three times to appear, warnings issued, but payments were not made,” he said.
He mentioned that the amount of arrears being collected varies between Rp50 million and Rp100 million.
He revealed that one of the companies being sued operates in the manpower outsourcing sector.
“One of them is an ‘outsourcing’ company with a considerable number of employees,” he said.
In 2025, he said, the Semarang City Prosecutor’s Office will also assist BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in collecting contributions from companies in arrears.
According to him, the Semarang City Prosecutor’s Office is handling collections from 77 companies that owe BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions.
