The commemoration of Regional Autonomy Day serves as a moment for all of us to strengthen our commitment and role in delivering tangible benefits to the community. Semarang (ANTARA) - Semarang City has received two awards at provincial and national levels for its performance in local government administration, coinciding with the 30th Regional Autonomy Day commemoration. Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti in Semarang on Monday stated that receiving both awards simultaneously demonstrates that efforts to improve performance have yielded results. “The commemoration of Regional Autonomy Day is a moment for all of us to strengthen our commitment and role in providing tangible benefits to the community,” she said during the Regional Autonomy Day ceremony in the courtyard of Semarang City Hall. The awards were presented at the Regional Autonomy Day commemoration ceremony in the courtyard of the Central Java Governor’s Office, Semarang, on Monday. At the national level, Semarang City successfully received the Local Government Administration Achievement Award with a score of 3.5709, holding High Performance status based on the 2025 Local Government Performance Evaluation (EPPD). The award was presented by the Minister of Home Affairs at the Ministry of Home Affairs Plaza, Jakarta, on the same day. Based on the national EPPD results, Semarang City now ranks among the top 10 best cities nationally with high performance status. Previously, in the 2024 evaluation, Semarang City was still in 27th place with a score of 3.2962 and a moderate predicate. According to her, this achievement is the result of collective efforts by all levels of government with community support. She emphasised that regional autonomy must be able to deliver direct benefits to residents. Regional autonomy, she said, is an instrument in accelerating development equity, strengthening public services, and improving community welfare. Therefore, she is committed to maintaining the positive performance trend through innovation, strengthening results-based bureaucracy, and enhancing the quality of public services that directly impact the community.
