Selling low priced rice

On Sept. 1, North Bogor Police succeeded in arresting a member
of a syndicate manipulating the government's provision of cheap
rice for the poor.

Six trucks originally slated to carry rice from Dramaga Bogor
logistics depot warehouse to Cariu and Sukaraja regencies were
rerouted on the way to an illegal broker's warehouse.

Police suspected this rerouting and, thanks to their expertise
and professionalism, foiled the scam attempt. When questioned,
the warehouse owner simply said that he was a buyer.

Police concluded that he was an illegal broker in this rice
scam. They sent the trucks to the North Bogor Police station and
interrogated the warehouse guards. Unfortunately, there has been
no follow up on this case to date.
