Self-Care Lifestyle Gains Momentum as Functional Lifestyle Products Grow
Changes in urban living trends are driving heightened demand for space and products that support personal comfort or ‘me time’. Simple activities such as enjoying coffee, listening to music, taking short trips, and resting at home are now viewed as part of maintaining balance amid a busy routine. The trend is also shaping urban consumer demand, who no longer consider only the product’s function, but also the experience and comfort offered in daily activities. Artini Asputri, PR & Marketing Manager of LocknLock Indonesia, says the concept of me time has evolved into a necessity for modern society to maintain quality of life amid fast-paced activities. ‘People are not only looking for functional products, but products that support comfort and personal experiences in daily activities. Simple moments such as enjoying a favourite drink or resting at home are important for recharging energy,’ she said in Jakarta, Friday 22 May.
She added that these changes make people more selective in choosing everyday products, particularly those that provide comfort while also serving as a form of personal expression. In response to the trend, LocknLock introduced the lifestyle brand Tactflow to the Indonesian market through the Tactflow Grand Opening Exhibition at Lotte Mall Jakarta from 22 May to 7 June 2026. The exhibition carried the theme of self-care, balance, and me time. Artini noted Indonesia has great potential as a market for lifestyle products that combine practical function with modern design. ‘Indonesia is one of the potential markets for Tactflow due to the high interest of people in lifestyle products that combine function with modern design’, she said. At the exhibition, Tactflow introduced three main product categories: Go Flow, Stay Flow, and Savor Flow. The Go Flow category offers mobility-support products such as tumblers, lunch boxes, snack cups, daily bags, and suitcases. Stay Flow focuses on products supporting a relaxing home atmosphere such as towels, bath mats, and house slippers. Savor Flow includes various tableware like mugs, bowls, and plates to complete everyday dining experiences. Artini said the entire collection has been developed with a modern design approach and practical function to make daily activities feel more comfortable and personal. ‘Tactflow aims to be more than just a lifestyle product brand; it is meant to be part of the daily life of modern people who want to enjoy small moments for themselves,’ she said. In addition to presenting products, the exhibition is designed as an interactive space for visitors through various activities and promotional programs, including Buy 1 Get 1 offers for 15 visitors daily. Currently, Tactflow is available through three outlets in Jakarta: Lotte Mall Jakarta, Lippo Mall Puri St. Moritz, and AEON Mall BSD City. The products are also available at 11 LocknLock flagship stores in Jakarta and Surabaya. Going forward, the company plans to expand its network with a new outlet at Pondok Indah Mall in August.

With rising consumer preference for comfortable and consistent dining destinations, location choice becomes a crucial factor in the growth strategy of F&B retail. Modularity enables users to create different layouts according to mood, needs, and even the changing number of occupants. What needs improvement in urban society is spatial planning of densely populated areas, rapid urbanisation, dense populations and vulnerable infrastructure capacity.
