Selection for MPR's Four Pillars Smart Competition 2026 at Riau Provincial Level Officially Held
Member of the MPR RI Socialisation Agency from the DPD RI Group for the Riau Electoral District, Arif Eka Saputra, officially opened the selection for the Four Pillars of the MPR RI Smart Competition (LCC) 2026 at the Riau provincial level in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Saturday (25/4). In his speech, Arif emphasised that the Four Pillars MPR LCC is not merely a competition but a strategic means to cultivate national spirit among the younger generation. “The Four Pillars MPR LCC is not just a contest, but a forum to understand the values of Pancasila, the 1945 UUD NRI, NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, and to practise them in daily life,” Arif stated in his remarks on Sunday (26/4/2026). He explained that the Four Pillars MPR LCC is a national competition participated in by representatives from 38 provinces in Indonesia and has commenced since 31 March 2026. The event’s presence in Riau forms an important part of efforts to strengthen understanding of national values in the region. According to Arif, following the provincial selection, the winners will proceed to the grand final scheduled in Jakarta in August 2026. “At the national stage, champions from all provinces will compete while strengthening national spirit at the national level,” he said. He also appreciated the Riau Provincial Education Office along with all parties involved in organising the event. Arif noted that the selection process to determine the nine best schools was not easy but was successfully carried out thanks to cooperation among various parties. Furthermore, Arif stressed the importance of providing a platform for expression and achievement to the nation’s young generation through events like the Four Pillars MPR LCC. This is because the youth’s role as successors to the nation’s leadership relay in the future. Therefore, the MPR RI is committed to continuously organising similar events on an ongoing basis. “I believe the younger generation is the successor to the nation’s leadership relay. Thus, instilling the values of the four pillars must be done from an early age. These values must not only be understood but also practised,” he said. To the participants, Arif advised making this competition a proof of ability as well as a valuable experience. “This is not just about competing for a trophy. You are the representation of Riau’s golden generation capable of competing at the national and international levels,” he stated. For information, the event was also attended by judges including the Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziah; Head of the Budgeting Secretariat Section of the DPD RI Faction and Group, Adi Christianto Depparinding; Head of Public Aspiration and Study Management, Rosy Romadiana Pasaribu; and Chief Lecturer of the S2 Pedagogy Master’s Programme at Unilak, Nurfaisal, who also served as the regional judge. Also present was the Head of the High School Division of the Riau Provincial Education Office, Nasrol Akmal. Subsequently, nine schools participated in the provincial selection, namely SMAS Plus Taruna Andalan, SMA Santo Tarcisius Dumai, SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Seikijang, SMK Negeri 1 Batang Gansal, Sekolah Kristen Kalam Kudus Selatpanjang, SMA Negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu, SMAS Cendana Mandau, SMA Negeri Plus Provinsi Riau, and SMA Negeri 1 Rengat. Each school was represented by 10 students. The competition mechanism consists of three preliminary rounds divided into three groups. Each participant must go through three sessions: Insights on the Four Pillars of the MPR, Thematic Four Pillars, and the Rebutan session. The final round will involve three participating schools, with only one selected as the champion to represent Riau Province in the grand final of the Four Pillars MPR LCC in Jakarta.
