Selangor shooting range renovated

JAKARTA (JP): Organizers of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur are spending two million ringgit (US$660,000) to renovate the Selangor Shooting Range in Subang, Malaysia.

Besides the renovation, the organizers are also building a new 10-meter range to replace the old one, which will cost around 1.8 million ringgit.

Selangor Shooting Association (SSA) range manager Chu Pu Yam said that work on the new range had started two months ago and would be completed sometime in August.

"Work has progressed ahead of schedule, and we are expecting it to be completed by the second week of August," he was quoted as saying by The Star on Tuesday.

There will be 34 gold medals in shooting up for grabs during the Sept. 8 to Sept. 17 Games. (yan)
