The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) and the TNI Headquarters are collaborating to prepare a character-building programme for students of Sekolah Rakyat (SR). Approximately 1,000 Military Academy (Akmil) cadets are planned to be involved in the coaching process. Five cadets will be responsible for each school, delivering various materials such as neatness of attire and dormitory rooms. Neatness is one aspect that has received attention from the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

This information emerged during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono and the Commandant General of the TNI Academy, Lieutenant General Sidharta Wisnu Graha, at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (24/6/2026). The meeting was also attended by Territorial Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Bambang Trisnohadi and Director of Education at the TNI Academy, Brigadier General Ari Novian.

Agus stated that under the scheme between the TNI Headquarters and the Ministry of Social Affairs, each Sekolah Rakyat will have five cadets. These cadets will guide both students and teachers on matters of neatness. He emphasised that this coaching model is crucial for shaping the character of SR students to be more disciplined and orderly, with the TNI directly involved in its implementation. He noted that from the outset, the Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf had stressed the need for such coaching to instil discipline as students transition from their old habitats to the new environment at Sekolah Rakyat. Agus added that the initiative is in line with Presidential Instruction No. 8 of 2025.
