Sekolah Rakyat Students Showcase Creativity at Garut Open House

Garut (ANTARA) – Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 39 Garut showcased its students’ creativity at an open house in Samarang District, Garut Regency, West Java, on Saturday.

The head of Sekolah Rakyat 39 Garut Regency, Andi Yasir Habibi, said on the sidelines of the event that all students in the 2025 cohort presented their work to the public, parents, regional leadership forum representatives and sub-district officials.

“This open house is being held on 17 October 2026, which coincides with the birthday of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto,” Andi said.

He said students at Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 39 Garut had been preparing for a long time to demonstrate the skills they had learnt during their first year at the school.

Their performances included arts activities such as playing musical instruments, choir singing, dancing, poetry readings and storytelling, as well as sports including pencak silat, karate and boxing.

“What is being presented is the children’s full range of abilities, from artistic performances and simulations to all the potential they have,” he said.

He hoped the event would motivate students to continue improving their abilities in academic and non-academic fields, giving them useful skills for the future.

“They can keep developing their talents and abilities so that they become capable people with skills that will serve them later in life,” he said.

Garut regency administration’s expert staff member for community affairs and human resources, Maskut Farid, who attended the event, praised the students’ performances, describing them as impressive and a source of pride.

“Sekolah Rakyat draws students from across the regency, so seeing the performances today—and seeing students who previously lived in very remote areas now able to perform like this—is very good,” he said.
