The equality of access to quality education remains a challenge in several regions across Indonesia. Consequently, the development of educational infrastructure is being continuously encouraged to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to obtain proper educational services.

One of the government’s efforts is through the construction of ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ in various regions. This programme is designed to provide more inclusive educational facilities while supporting the improvement of human resource quality towards the ‘Indonesia Emas 2045’ vision.

In the Remboken District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, the construction of Sekolah Rakyat is currently underway. The project is part of the government’s commitment to expanding educational access for communities in various regions.

The State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, personally inspected the progress of the Minahasa Sekolah Rakyat construction on 29 May 2026 to ensure the project implementation meets its targets. During the visit, Prasetyo also expressed his appreciation to the construction workers involved in building the educational facilities.

“Thank you for your hard work in the construction of Sekolah Rakyat in Remboken District, Minahasa. Keep up the spirit, prioritise safety, and let our education advance,” he stated.

Sekolah Rakyat Minahasa is designed as an integrated educational area with a boarding school concept, serving Primary (SD), Junior High (SMP), and Senior High (SMA) levels. In addition to classrooms and student dormitories, the educational zone will be equipped with various supporting facilities, such as teacher housing, a mosque, a multipurpose building, a canteen, and sports facilities to support the learning process and student character development.

As the construction executor, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) ensures that all stages of work adhere to quality standards, punctuality, and occupational safety. The Corporate Secretary of Brantas Abipraya, Dian Sovana, stated that the construction of Sekolah Rakyat is part of the company’s contribution to supporting the improvement of national education quality.

“We ensure that the construction of Sekolah Rakyat is not only completed on time but also meets the highest quality standards while prioritising occupational safety. Brantas Abipraya is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and high-quality educational facilities as a foundation for the birth of Indonesia’s superior future generation,” said Dian.

According to Dian, the development of educational infrastructure plays a strategic role in creating competitive human resources and strengthening equitable development across various regions. She added that the presence of Sekolah Rakyat also serves as an example of the synergy between the government and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in expanding educational access for the public.

“Through the construction of Sekolah Rakyat Minahasa, Brantas Abipraya is not merely providing physical buildings, but is also playing a part in preparing a growth space for Indonesia’s young generation. Aligned with the company’s spirit to build more than just infrastructure, this project is expected to become the foundation for a generation that is intelligent, characterised, and capable of bringing progress to the nation in the future,” Dian concluded.

With its integrated education concept and complete facilities, Sekolah Rakyat is expected to become an instrument to strengthen educational equality and produce a younger generation better prepared to face future challenges.
