SEKAYU, South Sumatra: Beware of mosquitoes in Sekayu, Musi

SEKAYU, South Sumatra: Beware of mosquitoes in Sekayu, Musi
Banyuasin regency, as at least 63 local people have been
hospitalized with malaria just at the onset of the rainy season.

"This month, seven infected patients have undergone intensive
treatment at the city's state hospital," a health worker said in
the hospital here on Monday.

Sources at the hospital said people in poor health who were
bitten by anopheles mosquitoes were particularly susceptible to
the disease.

They said local people must be careful of mosquito bites
because the mosquitoes bred in swamps in the regency. --Antara
