Seized Funds of Rp 10 Trillion Could Renovate 5,000 Puskesmas
President Prabowo Subianto stated that funds amounting to Rp 10.27 trillion from forestry administrative fines can be utilised to repair around 5,000 community health centres or puskesmas in Indonesia. Prabowo conveyed this during the handover event of the enforcement results in the form of administrative fines totalling Rp 10.27 trillion at the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.
Prabowo received a report from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin that around 10,000 puskesmas in the country have never been renovated since the era of former president Soeharto. Prabowo estimated the budget requirement at Rp 2 billion to repair a puskesmas. Thus, the Head of State said, it would take approximately Rp 20 trillion to renovate 10,000 puskesmas in Indonesia.
He further stated that the Rp 10 trillion entering the state coffers now can be used to complete the renovation of around 5,000 puskesmas. “I said, ‘How much money do you need to repair 10,000 (puskesmas)?’ ‘Approximately Rp 2 billion per puskesmas, so we need around Rp 20 trillion.’ Brothers and sisters, today that means we can complete 5,000 puskesmas, Rp 10 trillion,” Prabowo said at the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party, next month the state will also receive additional state revenues of around Rp 10 trillion from the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) and Rp 39 trillion from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK).
If those state revenue figures are realised, he is confident that all puskesmas can be renovated. Even beyond puskesmas, Prabowo said, the funds can also be used to repair schools that have not yet been fixed.
“If next month truly Rp 10 trillion more enters from Satgas, plus Rp 39 trillion from PPATK, that means Rp 49 trillion, so all puskesmas can easily be repaired by us. Schools that have not been repaired can soon be fixed,” Prabowo stated.
He claimed that last year’s State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) had been used to repair 17,000 schools. Meanwhile, this year the government is repairing 70,000 schools. For 2027 and 2028, he targets renovating 100,000 schools each year. He also emphasised that religious educational institutions such as madrasahs will be repaired.
“We will repair everything with the money that, if we don’t save it, will be lost to corruptors and thieves and robbers,” Prabowo remarked.
