JAKARTA (JP): East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office has destroyed
66.6 kilograms of dried marijuana, 26.3 grams of heroin, 1,982
Ecstasy pills and 15,411 Nipam pills.

The drugs, collected as evidence in cases dating as far back
as January 1996, were incinerated in the office compound on
Wednesday.

Sochen, who organized the display, said the drugs were used as
evidence in 179 cases handled by the East Jakarta Prosecutor's
Office.

The display was also attended by B.N. Panjaitan, who is the
head of the East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, and East Jakarta
Mayor Sudarsono, Antara reported. (bsr)
