SEHATI Programme Supports Nutritional Intake for Students in Several Regions
The business sector is supporting efforts to improve children’s nutrition through a programme distributing free milk to primary school pupils in several regions. In addition to helping increase nutritional intake, the programme is expected to enhance students’ learning motivation.
At SDN 001 Biatan Ilir in Berau, East Kalimantan, parents have observed changes in their children’s habits after the programme began. The children have become more enthusiastic about going to school and look forward to receiving milk with their friends.
One parent representative, Kartini, said the programme helps meet children’s nutritional needs amid constraints.
“As a parent representative, I am grateful for the SEHATI Programme from PT DLJ for helping to fulfil the nutritional needs of the children. The children often enthusiastically share stories when they return from school after receiving milk, saying it tastes good and makes them more motivated to learn. They even often can’t wait to get the milk again,” said Kartini.
A similar experience was shared by a pupil at SDN 198 Bukit Baling in Muaro Jambi. Zahira, a fifth-grade student, said the milk distribution is an eagerly awaited activity because it provides extra energy for learning.
“My friends and I are very happy to receive milk from PT Brahma Binabakti (BBB). It tastes fresh and delicious, making us more motivated to learn in class and feel healthier. We thank you for this programme. We hope this milk programme can continue so that my friends and I can keep enjoying healthy milk every day,” said Zahira.
The Healthy Nutritious Milk (SEHATI) Programme is run by PT Triputra Agro Persada Tbk through regular milk distribution to pupils in the areas around its operations, such as in Jambi, Central Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan. The programme aims to support the fulfilment of nutrition for school-age children.
The head of SDN 198 Bukit Baling, Fardia Sumroho Alfisiah, said the programme helps increase nutritional intake while encouraging students’ learning motivation.
“This programme provides additional nutritional intake that is important for the growth of primary school children, thereby helping to support their health and development during their learning years. We, along with the entire teaching staff, express our thanks to the company for its care and real contribution through this programme,” said Fardia.
The programme is still ongoing and is hoped to reach more pupils in the company’s operational areas.
