SEFAS Group Acquires Shell Petrol Stations: Company Profile and the Figures Behind It

The name SEFAS Group has come into the spotlight after the company was reported to be acquiring the entire business of Shell petrol stations (SPBU) in Indonesia.

News of the corporate action emerged on Wednesday, 19 August 2026. If the transaction is completed, this step will mark a new chapter for SEFAS Group, which has been known as a Shell lubricant distributor in Indonesia.

The acquisition process is currently still awaiting regulatory approval and the fulfilment of other general requirements. Completion of the transaction is targeted to take place this year.

SEFAS Group CEO Ricky Roesli said the action is part of the company’s move to develop its energy retail business in Indonesia.

“As the largest Shell lubricant distributor in Indonesia, SEFAS is proud to take the next business step and support the future growth of Indonesia’s energy retail sector,” said Ricky in an official statement on Wednesday, 19 August 2026.

SEFAS Group began its business journey through PT Sefas Pelindotama in 1997 in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

Citing the company’s official website, SEFAS initially operated as an official distributor of Shell lubricants in Indonesia. The company then expanded by building an operational network in various regions across the country.

The name SEFAS itself is adopted from Greek, meaning stone. Over the course of its journey, the company expanded its business scope and operational areas to have more than 20 offices and warehouses in Indonesia.

SEFAS Group now serves more than 6,000 customers from various industrial sectors. The company not only targets lubricant needs but also provides services and products for various sectors that require energy support and equipment maintenance.
