See big parade on Aug. 27

JAKARTA (JP): To mark the 50th anniversary of Indonesia's independence, the Jakarta City administration is planning to hold a development parade on Aug. 27, a city official said.

According to City Hall official Hadi Laksana the participants will consist of government institutions, private foundations, state-owned companies, sport organizations and social-political organizations.

The parade will start from Monas and move through Jl. Thamrin and Jl. Sudirman.

Float designs must go through an approved process before they will be allowed to participate in the parade, Hadi said. (01)
