Central Java Police Chief (Polda Jateng), Ribut Hari Wibowo, has assured that the security and order situation during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday in his region is monitored as safe and conducive up to now. He hopes this condition can be maintained until the peak of the return flow, alongside the increasing mobility of the public in various mudik (homecoming) and tourism destinations. “So far, the Eid situation in Central Java is still safe and orderly. We hope this condition continues to be maintained until the return flow is complete,” said Ribut. According to him, security is not only focused on Eid celebration points for 2026 but also covers all tourist objects in Central Java. The security pattern involves the TNI-Polri as well as all related stakeholders. “Not only water tourism, but all tourist objects are secured together with stakeholders, assisted by the governor as well as regents and mayors. Hopefully, this year’s Eid holiday runs well,” he explained. Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi advised the public and mudik travellers to remain vigilant and not to rush during their journeys. “The public should not rush on the road, whether during mudik or return. Ora usah kesusu (no need to hurry),” said Luthfi after monitoring the night of takbiran at Simpanglima, Semarang. He emphasised that safety must be the top priority, given the increased public activities during Eid for silaturahmi (socialising) or tourism. On the other hand, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed all ranks to anticipate potential density, especially in agglomeration areas and tourist destinations. “Halalbihalal activities have the potential to cause congestion, especially in mudik destinations like Central Java. Tourist spots must be anticipated to avoid new problems,” he stressed. Head of the Central Java Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy Office, Hanung Triyono, stated that various preparations have been made, from cross-regional coordination to the readiness of destination managers. Several locations are predicted to be favourite tourist spots, such as Tawangmangu, Masjid Sheikh Zayed Surakarta, Gajah Mungkur Reservoir, and the Dieng area known for its hot air balloon attractions. In addition, religious destinations in Demak and Kudus are expected to be crowded with pilgrims, while southern coastal areas like Kebumen, Purworejo, and Wonogiri receive special attention in terms of security. Hanung urged tourists to maintain cleanliness and order during visits. “These tourist objects belong to us all. Let’s keep them so that all tourists get a good experience,” he said. He also reminded of the potential for extreme weather such as rain and strong winds that need to be anticipated for visitor safety.
