Security measures
From Suara Karya
There has been a recent spate of bank clients being robbed
after withdrawing money from the bank. The latest incident
occurred in broad daylight when a client was robbed of Rp 405
million after withdrawing money from BCA in Lhokseumawe, Aceh.
In this context the following measures should be considered:
1. When transporting money a police escort is absolutely
necessary. The police should be armed.
2. Internal security guards should not only be present inside
the building but should also watch the vicinity of the building
and supervise clients.
3. Money should be transported in stages. This would avoid
carrying an excess sum of money.
4. Surveillance of the bank from a distance (from 100 meters)
is necessary. Contact with the headquarters should be maintained
via a mobile phone.
5. We should learn from the Malaysian security system. In any
robbery attempt, the robbers were shot dead by local police.
7. The transport schedule should be a secret, and routes
should be changed from time to time to confuse the criminals.
