Security lacking in Indonesia
Security lacking in Indonesia
From Bisnis Indonesia
Another bomb blast at a public venue. It seems that there is
no place in this country that is free from terrorist attacks.
Only two places have yet to be hit by a bomb blast: The State
Palace and the Indonesian Military headquarters in Cilangkap.
Bomb blasts have hit a variety of places: The building of the
People's Consultative Assembly/House of Representatives, the area
behind the United Nations building, part of the headquarters of
the Indonesian police, mosques, churches, Soekarno-Hatta
international airport and even the Jakarta Stock Exchange.
Although these bomb blasts differ in intensity, their effect
is the same: A terror for all, rich and poor.
So, why should people pay taxes and other levies if they
cannot feel secure, something which, according to our
constitution, is the right of every Indonesian?
