Security Guard Drowned in Jatiluhur Reservoir: Police Examine 15 Witnesses

Police have examined 15 witnesses in connection with the death of a security guard who was found handcuffed in the Jatiluhur Reservoir, Purwakarta. The number is likely to increase as the investigation progresses. “So far we have questioned 15 witnesses. Today there may be additional witnesses to examine. They consist of close friends, family, colleagues, and people around the scene,” said Purwakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP I Made Purwantara, at the Purwakarta Police Headquarters, as reported by detikJabar on Monday (27/7/2026). Regarding the cause of death, Made stated that the official autopsy report was received by the investigation team today for further analysis. Police are now matching the medical findings with the hypotheses that have been formulated. “The autopsy results came out today and will be analysed later. We already have several hypotheses and are gathering various possibilities related to the victim’s case,” he said. Amidst conflicting information on social media, the police have stressed that no individual has been named a suspect or arrested in connection with the case. “No one has been named a suspect yet; those on social media are not from us,” he clarified.
