Security Forces Secure Hotel Sultan, Protesters Retreat

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – A joint team of military and police personnel successfully occupied Hotel Sultan on Thursday (18/6), repelling a crowd that was resisting the execution of a court order.

According to observations, the protesters initially threw stones and bottled water at the security forces. Officers attempted to enter the hotel, leading to shoving matches.

Security forces then fired water cannons several times at the crowd. The protesters gradually retreated, allowing the officers to enter the hotel. Several individuals who resisted and threw objects were arrested and escorted out of the Hotel Sultan. Meanwhile, police were seen sweeping through rooms inside the hotel.
