Security for 2026 Eid Exodus Deemed Effective, Polri's Humanistic Approach Praised
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The security for the Eid al-Fitr exodus and return flows in 2026 has been deemed effective, with levels of smoothness and safety well maintained. Traffic management strategies and cross-sector coordination served as the main factors in controlling vehicle movements during the peak period.
Several parties assessed that this success was supported by a combination of traffic engineering, technology-based monitoring, and the readiness of on-site officers in responding to traffic flow dynamics. This approach was seen as capable of reducing congestion while minimising accident risks.
General Chairman of Rampai Nusantara, Semar Mardiansyah, stated that the performance of the police apparatus deserves appreciation for managing the exodus and return flows in a controlled manner. “Rampai Nusantara extends its highest appreciation to the National Police Chief and all Polri ranks who have worked optimally to ensure this year’s Eid exodus and return flows proceed smoothly, safely, and under control,” said Semar on Sunday (29/3/2026).
Semar added that the humanistic approach of officers in the field added value to public services. “It’s not just about smoothness, but also how Polri is present with a humanistic approach to the community. This is an important point that deserves appreciation,” said Semar.
In addition to traffic management, cross-agency coordination was also deemed to play a role in maintaining stability during the Eid period. This synergy ensured that handling various potential obstacles could be carried out quickly and measurably.
Rampai Nusantara hopes that this achievement can be maintained for the next major event. The organisation also encourages improvements in the quality of public services that are more responsive to community needs.
