Securities firms enter Medan
JAKARTA (JP): Two Jakarta-based securities companies, PT Mulatama and PT Ficor Securities, plan to open representative offices in Medan, North Sumatra, next month to tap the growing number of local investors in the city.
The two offices will be based at the city's Capital Market Information Center.
Yoserizal, an official from the center, said that the branches of the two securities firms would help local investors carry out transactions on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX).
Six Jakarta-based securities companies have already opened branches in the center, a mini stock market owned by the JSX. They are PT Sinar Piranti Ciptadhana Amerta Sekuritas, PT Sinar Mas Sekuritas, PT Hatun Dana Sekuritas, PT Danamon Sekuritas, PT Lambung Persada Khatulistiwa and PT Sasson Securities.
Yoserizal said that the center, which opened in July, has installed six computer sets to directly monitor trading activities at the JSX
In addition, the center also provides toll-free telephone services for local investors. (hen)
