Securing PKM Grant, UBSI Tasikmalaya Lecturer Develops Sea Pandan Weaving MSME with Technology-Based Approach
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TASIKMALAYA - Successfully obtaining funding from the Community Service Programme (PKM) for the 2026 Fiscal Year, a team of lecturers from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Tasikmalaya campus, known as the Creative Digital Campus, is developing a technology information-based sea pandan weaving MSME. The funding comes from the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, obtained after a national selection process. The programme, titled Assistance in Optimising Business Management and Marketing of Sea Pandan Weaving Products Using Information Technology for RIMA Craft Tasikmalaya MSME, is led by Herlan Sutisna with members Taufik Wibisono and Ratningsih, involving students Reyhan Andrea Firdaus and Zamzam Permana Maulana Sidik. Herlan stated that the programme aims to enhance the MSME’s capacity in business management and marketing through the utilisation of information technology. “This assistance focuses on strengthening business management, from financial recording and inventory management to digital marketing, so that business actors can reach a wider market,” he said. He explained that the approach used is based on the partner’s needs through direct field observation, ensuring that the solutions provided can be effectively implemented. In addition, the team emphasises the importance of programme sustainability so that the MSME can continue to develop independently after the assistance period ends. According to Herlan, the success in obtaining the PKM grant is inseparable from the preparation of a proposal that complies with the ministry’s guidelines, both in terms of substance and administration. Through this programme, UBSI Tasikmalaya campus reaffirms its commitment as a Creative Digital Campus in supporting community empowerment and strengthening information technology-based MSMEs.
