Securing Fuel and LPG from Global Conditions, Pertamina Prepares These Steps

PT Pertamina (Persero) has prepared various mitigation measures as efforts to maintain the availability of domestic energy supplies in the face of global dynamics and Middle East conflicts. Global conditions are assessed to impact the world’s energy supply chain, thus requiring support from all parties to ensure the continuity of energy, including BBM and LPG. Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, outlined various steps and operational scenarios that Pertamina is taking to address the global situation and ensure the supply and distribution of BBM and LPG to the public. “As a national energy company, Pertamina has implemented a mitigation plan and contingency plan to ensure that energy supplies continue to run smoothly,” said Baron in a press release on Wednesday (18/3/2026). Pertamina, he explained, has diversified its energy supply sources, so it does not depend on a single region or country. This strategy is expected to maintain supply stability when disruptions occur in distribution routes or geopolitical dynamics in certain areas. In addition, Pertamina continues to strengthen coordination with the government to ensure the optimisation of national energy supplies and support strategic policies in the energy sector. In maintaining energy distribution to the public, which is no less important, Pertamina continues to coordinate with law enforcement agencies and local governments to conduct field supervision of distribution. “Pertamina, together with law enforcement agencies and local governments, continues to conduct field supervision to ensure that the distribution of BBM and LPG runs smoothly. We also support law enforcement against hoarding practices or misuse of energy,” added Baron. The current global dynamics, Baron continued, are external factors that need to be addressed together by the government, businesses, and the public. Pertamina will continue to maximise various steps to maintain national energy availability. As part of collective efforts to maintain energy resilience, Pertamina also urges the public to use energy, both BBM and LPG, wisely and to save according to needs. The public can also start utilising various energy alternatives in daily activities, such as using household electrical appliances for cooking or heating food, so that energy consumption can be better managed. “In line with the President’s appeal, Pertamina also invites the public to jointly use energy wisely as part of efforts to maintain national energy resilience,” Baron concluded.
