The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung), through the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence, has launched the integrated ‘Jaga Desa’ Early Warning System (EWS) application. This move is designed to safeguard food security, which remains a key priority under President Prabowo Subianto’s ‘Asta Cita’ programme.

According to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office’s Legal Information Centre (Puspenkum) on Friday, the innovation integrates data across various agencies and strengthens synergy between ministries, local governments, and PT Pupuk Indonesia. Furthermore, the system fosters collaboration with agricultural extension officers, farmer groups, and the wider community to oversee the distribution of subsidised fertilisers.

The application features real-time distribution monitoring, a monitoring and reporting dashboard, cross-sector data integration, and risk-based analysis. It also provides early warning notifications regarding potential irregularities, such as distribution exceeding quotas, prices exceeding the maximum retail price (HET), stock shortages, duplicate transactions, or discrepancies in distribution locations.

The system also facilitates rapid and documented public reporting, making oversight more preventive and predictive to detect potential deviations at an early stage. The implementation of the ‘Jaga Desa’ Integrated Early Warning System is expected to increase transparency and accountability in fertiliser distribution, reduce the potential for subsidy leakage, protect state finances, and ensure that farmers’ rights to receive targeted subsidies are upheld.

The Attorney General’s Office hopes this innovation will contribute to improving farmer welfare, strengthening national food security, and supporting efforts to prevent and eradicate corruption.
