Secure BBM and LPG Stocks for Ramadan and Eid in DIY Prepared Well in Advance of the War
DIY and Central Java are expected destinations for homecoming during the Idul Fitri holidays. Pertamina has stressed that it prepared BBM and LPG stocks long in advance of the Israel–America confrontation with Iran, to ensure supply. Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager Communication, Relations, & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah, said: ‘Thus, BBM stocks in Java Tengah (Central Java) and the DIY region for Ramadan and Idul Fitri have been prepared long before the Iran–Israel conflict; we guarantee the supply.’ Regarding Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia’s statement that BBM stocks can cover 20 days, he explained that ‘the stock today can withstand 20 times the normal consumption’ — for example, if Yogyakarta’s BBM consumption is 10, stocks of 200 would cover. ‘Meaning, if consumption surges 20 times tomorrow, we can cope because the stock is 20 times the normal,’ he explained. For the following day, daily inflow/outflow would also be kept at 20 times the normal consumption and maintained through December. Earlier at Kepatihan Complex, Pertamina Patra Niaga Sales Area Manager for DIY and Solo Raya, Weddy Surya Windrawan, said there should be no problem; they commit to fulfilling BBM or LPG needs. ‘To serve the public especially on major days in Ramadan, it will be sufficient,’ he added.
