Section 2 Functional Stretch of Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Temporarily Closed
The functional section 2 of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road has been officially closed temporarily starting 26 March 2026 at 17:00 WIB, as part of completing construction and improving service quality. This follows 15 days of supporting smooth Eid travel flows and serving more than 150,000 vehicles. The functional period for Section 2, covering the Rangkasbitung-Cikulur-Cileles stretch, began on 12 March 2026, providing service to the public, particularly in facilitating Eid travel. During this period, the functional stretch recorded service to over 150,000 vehicles, making a real contribution to shortening travel time from Jabodetabek to Serang, Lebak, Pandeglang and surrounding areas, as well as opening easier access to premier tourist destinations such as Baduy Tourist Village, Sawarna, and Tanjung Lesung. The presence of this functional stretch not only helps alleviate traffic congestion but also provides more efficient and comfortable access for the public travelling, including to regional tourist areas. PT Wijaya Karya Serang Panimbang’s President Director, Iwan Juliansyah, stated that this temporary closure is part of efforts to provide the best service improvements going forward. “The public’s enthusiasm over these 15 days is proof that this stretch is greatly needed. With a heavy heart, we must carry out this temporary closure to complete construction work and ensure more optimal service standards. We are committed to bringing back this stretch with better quality, safety, and comfort for all road users,” Iwan said in an official statement on Thursday (26/3/2026). Iwan also expressed thanks and appreciation for the public’s trust in utilising the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road as part of their journeys during this functional operational period. Section 2 of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road is planned to begin full operations in the second half of 2026, with premium services so that road users can experience safe, fast, and comfortable travel with the Serang Panimbang Toll Road. The Serang-Panimbang Toll Road is part of the toll road network connected to the Trans Java Toll Road, linking Jakarta, Serang, Lebak to Pandeglang. This toll road is expected to enhance connectivity and accessibility in the Banten region, particularly in Central and Southern Banten, as well as drive economic growth and tourism in the area.
