Jakarta — The Secretary General of the Defence Ministry (Sekjen Kemenhan), Lieutenant General Tri Budi Utomo, dispatched ministry employees and their families on the mudik (homecoming) programme on Friday, 13 March 2026, to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns.

The Defence Ministry deployed 27 buses and 3 reserve buses to transport 712 registered participants in the homecoming programme. The destinations were divided amongst Java Island, comprising Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Lampung Province on Sumatera Island.

“As in previous years, we are organising the Eid mudik programme to assist Defence Ministry employees,” said Lieutenant General Tri to journalists at the Defence Ministry.

According to Tri, the breakdown of homebound travellers was as follows: Solo 280 people, Yogyakarta 236 people, Surabaya 134 people, and Lampung 57 people. He also instructed participants to return together so they could resume work at the Defence Ministry on 28 March 2026.
