Seconds as Bekasi Man Rams Robber to Stop Wife’s Motorcycle Being Seized

One man thwarted an attempted robbery targeting his wife. The case of robbery with violence (curas) was foiled after the robber was rammed by the victim’s husband. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, around 03:00 local time, in the Tamna Galaxy area, South Bekasi District, Bekasi City, West Java. Initially, the woman had left home to buy sahur ingredients. Because the area was quiet, the husband followed from behind in a car to watch for any unwanted incident. Suddenly the woman was intercepted by three men who intended to seize her motorcycle. ‘The victim was intercepted by three men, one of whom was carrying a celurit,’ said Bekasi Selatan Police Chief Kompol Dedi Herdiana, on Friday (6/3). Seeing his wife in danger, the husband immediately rammed the attackers with the car he was driving. One robber was knocked down at the scene. Then the husband, who was behind, rammed the motorcycle he was riding toward the attackers and hit one of them, he said. After being struck, one attacker tumbled and could not move. The husband got out of the car and held tightly the robber who was still young. In circulating video, there appear to be two celurit believed to belong to the attackers. The celurit were held by the woman who was the target of the robbery, and by her husband. Meanwhile, the other two attackers managed to escape. Police are also still seeking the other perpetrators. ‘For the two fugitives, as of now they are being sought and have been chased to several locations but have not yet been found,’ he said. The arrest drew the attention of residents who crowded near. Residents could be heard expressing anger after learning that the captured, bloodied youth was the robber. The captured robber was handed over to police. The case is currently under police investigation.
