Second Wave of Indonesian Pilgrims' Luggage Weigh-In Begins, 32 Kg Limit Enforced

Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from the second wave currently in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, will enter the repatriation phase to their homeland via Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport starting in the early hours of Tuesday (16/6/2026) Saudi Arabia Time. Prior to departure, the pilgrims’ luggage will be weighed two days before being flown by Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines. “We are here, together with the Sector 1 Madinah team, checking the luggage weighing process for pilgrims who will depart on 16 June 2026,” said Head of the Madinah Working Area, Khalilurrahman, to the Hajj Media Center in Madinah on Sunday (14/6/2026). Khalilurrahman revealed that although pilgrims depart starting 16 June 2026, they will leave their hotels from 15 June 2026, given that some flight groups depart in the early hours. “Although some of our pilgrims depart from the hotel on the night of the 15th, because their take-off is at 00.20, the weighing SOP we have determined is two days before the pilgrims return to the homeland,” Khalilurrahman explained. He explained that the weighing of Indonesian pilgrims’ luggage is carried out so that the baggage weight does not exceed regulations. “The airline stipulates that pilgrims’ bags must not exceed 32 kilos,” he said.
