Second Wave of Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims' Departure from Mecca to Medina Completed
The process of dispatching Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the second wave from Mecca to Medina officially ended today, Monday (22/6). The departure of the last three flight groups (kloter) marks the conclusion of all operational phases for the pilgrims in the city of Mecca. The pilgrims will now reside in Medina for eight days before being scheduled to return to Indonesia. The Head of the Mecca Working Area (Daker) for the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, Ihsan Faisal, revealed that the three groups departing from Mecca to Medina included kloter BDJ (Banjarmasin) 19, SUB (Surabaya) 116, and UPG (Ujung Pandang) 43. “UPG-43 is the final group in this second wave phase,” Ihsan said during the departure of the UPG-43 group in Mecca on Monday. He expressed hope that the entire journey for the pilgrims would proceed without obstacles. “Hopefully all pilgrims, especially those in UPG-43, can depart for Medina smoothly, safely, and in good health, arriving at their destination safely,” he explained. With the completion of this phase, Ihsan conveyed his appreciation to all staff of the Mecca Working Area who fulfilled their service commitment until the last group departed. “We from the Mecca Working Area express our congratulations and tremendous appreciation to our colleagues serving in the Mecca Working Area. May the hard work, service, and dedication of all officers be recorded as righteous deeds by Allah SWT,” Ihsan said. Meanwhile, the repatriation process for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to the homeland is also proceeding safely and smoothly. As of Sunday (21/6), a total of 135,872 people, or two-thirds of the total Indonesian pilgrims and officers, have arrived back in Indonesia. On the same occasion, Technical Staff of the Hajj Affairs Office at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, M Ilham Effendy, bid farewell to the pilgrims leaving the Holy City of Mecca for Medina. Ilham expressed hope that all the acts of worship performed by the pilgrims would be accepted by Allah SWT. “On behalf of the officers, we bid farewell to you who will shortly leave the Holy City of Mecca al-Mukarramah for the City of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in Medina al-Munawarah. Our prayer is that all the acts of worship you have performed while in Mecca are accepted by Allah SWT and that you become Hajj pilgrims who are mabrur,” he said.
