There is a different scene with the start of the arrival of the second wave of Hajj pilgrims. The Ajyad Terminal, which has usually been quite empty for the past three days, is starting to get crowded, especially before and after obligatory prayers. Pilgrims even have to jostle to reach the bus departure gates.

The Head of the Ajyad Terminal Post (Kapos), M. Rifat Sitorus, said that this density is occurring because more Hajj pilgrims are entering Mecca, including those from Indonesia.

β€œThe second wave from Jeddah has started arriving in the Holy Land, so the crowding at Ajyad will increase over the next three days and continue thereafter,” Sitorus said when met by the Hajj Media Centre (MCH) team at the terminal on Saturday night (9/5/2026).

Based on data from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Hajj (Kemenhaj), as of Friday, 8 May 2026, 303 kloters with a total of 117,452 pilgrims and 1,209 kloter staff have been dispatched from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the movement of pilgrims from Medina to Mecca continues gradually. To date, 165 kloters with 63,822 pilgrims and 660 staff have arrived in Mecca to perform obligatory Umrah and prepare for the peak of the Hajj worship.

For the arrival of the second wave via King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, 28 kloters with 10,731 pilgrims and 113 kloter staff have arrived. In addition, 2,958 special Hajj pilgrims are already in Saudi Arabia.
