Second Wave Hajj Pilgrims Arrive at Jeddah Airport, Ambassador Reminds of Hot Weather

The flight group (kloter) 2 from Lombok Embarkation (LOP) became the first batch of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the second wave to arrive at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday (7/5/2026). This was followed by the arrival of Hajj pilgrims from Aceh Embarkation (BTJ) at 07:30 Saudi time and Solo Embarkation (SOC) via the fast track at 07:55 Saudi time. The arrival of the initial batches of the second wave pilgrims at Jeddah Airport was welcomed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz Ahmad, and the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, Yusron B. Ambary. Also present were the Inspector General of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, Retired Major General TNI Dendi Suryadi, and the Director General of Hajj Services of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ian Heriyawan. The ambassador advised the Hajj pilgrims to take care of their health, considering that the weather in Saudi Arabia is hotter than in Indonesia. “Pilgrims should maintain their health because the Hajj worship process is still long,” he said. On the first day of the arrival of the second wave Hajj pilgrims, 15 kloters are scheduled to land at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The total number of pilgrims landing on the first day of the second wave arrival is 5,795 people. The arrival phase for the second wave Hajj pilgrims begins on 7 May 2026 until 21 May 2026. As of Thursday (7/5/2026) at 10:00 Saudi time, 270 kloters have arrived in Saudi Arabia, both via Madinah Airport and King Abdulaziz Jeddah Airport. The total number of pilgrims who have landed is 104,863 people.
