Mataram (ANTARA) - A joint SAR team has finally located the second victim swept away by waves at Ampenan Beach in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Sunday morning. Victim Anindita Mantika Muslim (9), a girl reported swept away at Karang Buyuk Beach on Friday afternoon (29/5), was later found by the joint SAR team deceased. Mataram SAR Office Operations and Readiness Section Chief Bustanil said the victim’s body was found while the joint SAR team was conducting a search following a report from local residents and fishermen at 7:10 am WITA. ‘The report indicated that the victim was seen floating near Bintaro Beach waters,’ he said. In response, the joint SAR team swiftly moved to the location for evacuation. After being recovered from the water, the victim’s body was immediately taken to the funeral home to be handed over to the family. Prior to the discovery of Anindita, the joint SAR team had earlier found the first victim, Pietro Lionel Alesandro Seda (13), at 8:30 am WITA on Saturday (30/5). Pietro was found floating approximately one kilometre north of the first incident’s Last Known Position (LKP) at Skip Beach and was immediately evacuated to Mataram Bhayangkara Hospital using the SAR Mataram Rescue D-Max. Both victims were reported missing after being swept away by waves on Friday afternoon (29/5) in nearly simultaneous incidents. The SAR operation was a close collaboration between personnel from Mataram SAR Office, NTB Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob), NTB Marine Police (Polairud), Ampenan Police Station, Mataram City Police, Ampenan Military District Command (Koramil), Tagana, and assistance from local fishermen and residents.
