North Aceh Regent Ismail A. Jalil stated that the second phase of Social and Economic Stimulus Aid (BSSE) and Housing Assistance, with a budget of Rp28.7 billion for 3,586 flood-affected households, has been disbursed.

‘Alhamdulillah, BSSE has begun disbursement ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah, which will greatly assist them in meeting their needs,’ said Ismail A. Jalil during a symbolic handover ceremony for flood survivors in Baktiya District, Banda Aceh, on Tuesday.

He explained that the handover was symbolic, with further disbursements to continue after Eid, following administrative procedures and data validation by the central government.

According to him, the incident, which drew public attention, has brought valuable lessons for accelerating post-disaster management in North Aceh.

‘Alhamdulillah, we have gained many lessons. Currently, around 4,500 temporary shelters (huntara) have been completed, and 1,500 permanent housing units (huntap) are under construction,’ said the regent, commonly known as Ayah Wa.

North Aceh Regency Social Affairs Chief Fakhrurrazi explained that this disbursement targets approximately 50 gampong (villages) across six districts: Baktiya, Sawang, Muara Batu, Jambo Aye, Langkahan, and Seunuddon.

‘The aid disbursed today includes Rp5 million per family for economic stimulus and Rp3 million for housing assistance,’ he said.

The Acting Head of North Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) added that the previously unallocated Housing Waiting Fund (DTH) should be expedited.

He urged that any missing victim data be re-registered, as late applications are still possible to ensure no residents are overlooked.

‘Do not leave any data behind. If there are residents not yet included, please re-register, as late applications are still possible. This is an official BPBD announcement,’ he said.

Regarding the permanent housing (huntap) program built by the Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation, BPBD confirmed that placement is prioritised for households with severe house damage as per regulations and based on beneficiary Decision Letters (SK).

For BSSE in other districts not yet disbursed, applications have been submitted and are awaiting processing by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The North Aceh Regency government has submitted 58,528 households for the third phase, with data personally delivered to Jakarta by Ayah Wa, accompanied by the Social Affairs Chief, P3A, and Acting BPBD Head some time ago.
