Vehicle volumes passing through the Purwomartani toll gate are still monitored as busy despite a decrease. PT Jasamarga Jogja-Solo predicts that the second peak of return traffic will occur at the end of this weekend.

Based on data from the Back Office Smart Province DIY, the first peak of return traffic occurred on 24 March. From 06:00 WIB to 22:00 WIB, 19,570 vehicles passed through.

Meanwhile, on 25 March, from 06:00 WIB to 22:00 WIB, 14,925 vehicles were recorded passing through.

“Yesterday was still monitored as busy,” said the Public Relations Officer of PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo, Rachmat Jasiman, when contacted on Thursday (26/3/2026).

He stated that during this 2026 Eid holiday period, two peaks of return traffic are predicted. The first peak of return traffic has already been surpassed.

“The first peak was on Tuesday (24/3),” he explained.

He predicts that the second peak of return traffic could occur between 27 March and 29 March. This aligns with the impending end of the functional operation of the Jogja-Solo toll segment Purwomartani-Prambanan.

“Yes, possibly on the 27th or 29th,” he said.

It is known that the operational hours of the functional Purwomartani-Prambanan toll road have been extended until 22:00 WIB. This extension of functional hours is intended to reduce traffic density on arterial routes.

DIY Provincial Police Chief, Irjen Anggoro Sukartono, stated that the policy has been implemented starting today.

“Starting today, we will increase and extend its use from 06:00 WIB in the morning until 22:00 WIB,” said Anggoro to reporters on Tuesday (24/3).

Anggoro stated that the existence of the Purwomartani toll gate helps to direct vehicles entering the Special Region of Yogyakarta to surrounding areas.

“This is very helpful because up to today, 67,000 have exited through Purwomartani,” he said.

He predicts that the peak of return traffic will occur today. However, he continues to monitor the traffic density situation in urban areas.

“If looking at today’s prediction, but we see the developing situation, the calculation is still ongoing,” he said.
