Tokyo (ANTARA) - A tanker owned by the Japanese energy company ENEOS, the Eneos Endeavor, arrived at the Yokohama oil refinery on Saturday after successfully crossing the Strait of Hormuz, according to a report by the Nikkei newspaper. The Eneos Endeavor is the second Japanese tanker to reach the country after passing through the Strait of Hormuz following the onset of the crisis in the Middle East region. The first tanker was the Idemitsu Maru, owned by the Japanese company Idemitsu Kosan, which arrived off the coast of Japan on 25 May. The Eneos Endeavor, carrying 2.15 million barrels of oil from Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), first docked at the ENEOS terminal in the port of Kiire—one of the world’s largest crude oil transshipment and storage hubs. There, the vessel discharged 900,000 barrels before continuing its journey to the Negishi refinery in Yokohama, where it discharged the remaining 1.25 million barrels. This volume is sufficient to maintain operations at the Negishi plant for eight days. Currently, 38 vessels destined for Japan, including seven oil tankers, remain in the Persian Gulf.
