Second Day of Online Learning: Students Found Outside During School Hours During Patrol

A number of students from SDN 1 Munjuljaya, Purwakarta, were caught during a raid by the Online Learning Implementation Supervision Team. Online learning has been mandated for all primary and junior high schools in accordance with a circular from the Purwakarta Regency Education Office, following the impact of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.

On the second day of online learning, the supervision team from SDN 1 Munjuljaya conducted direct patrols to monitor the progress of remote learning. However, during the patrol, the team found several students outside their homes while online classes were in session.

The Headmaster of SDN 1 Munjuljaya, Sakimin, stated that the school conducted these direct patrols to assess the condition of students participating in remote learning from their respective homes. In addition to monitoring the learning process, the school found students outdoors for various reasons.

“During the patrol, we found students outside their homes for various reasons. We have advised them to complete their online learning and to wear masks if they must go outside,” said Sakimin on Tuesday (8/9).

Meanwhile, Faqih Fauzi Ahmad, a fifth-grade student at SDN 1 Munjuljaya, admitted that he prefers learning at school to allow for face-to-face interaction with his peers. He also noted that online learning presents challenges, such as weak internet signals that occasionally disrupt the online learning process.

“I prefer learning directly at school because the internet signal during online learning is often slow,” said Faqih.

The school hopes that its 704 students can return to normal in-person learning once air quality returns to normal and the volcanic ash pollution from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau ceases.
