The Indonesian Islamic Congress (KUII) VIII will enter its second day on Saturday (25/7/2026) with a series of 11 plenary sessions discussing strategic national issues. Topics ranging from law enforcement, politics and security, food security, the economy, and energy, to the idea of establishing a Sharia Danantara will be the focus of discussions among clerics, government officials, academics, and national figures.

Based on the official KUII VIII schedule, the agenda begins at 08:00 WIB with Plenary Session V, themed “Judicial Power in Upholding Justice and Truth”. This session will feature Supreme Court Chief Justice Sunarto and Zaeanal Arifin Mochtar as speakers.

Subsequently, at 09:00 WIB, Plenary Session VI will be held with the theme “National Politics and Security Amidst International Geopolitical Dynamics”. This forum will present Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago alongside Agung Sasongkojati.

The issue of food security will take centre stage at Plenary Session VII at 10:00 WIB. Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan is scheduled to be a speaker alongside Purwiyanto Hariadi to discuss the theme “Food Security and Sovereignty”.

Next, Plenary Session VIII at 11:00 WIB will delve into the “Roadmap for National Resilience and Defence Amidst Global Dynamics”. Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin is scheduled to present his views on the direction of Indonesia’s defence policy.

After a break and prayers, the agenda resumes at 13:00 WIB with Plenary Session IX, themed “Challenges and Agenda for Just, Inclusive, and Sustainable Economic Growth and Resilience”. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto will be a speaker alongside economist Sylvi Veronica Nalurita Purnama Siregar.

Continuing on economic matters, Plenary Session X at 14:00 WIB will address two themes: “Implementation of State Financial and Asset Policies for People’s Prosperity and Equitable Development” and “Zakat as an Instrument for Economic Empowerment of Mustahik and Equitable Welfare”. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is scheduled to attend alongside Adiwarman Karim and the Head of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) Sodik Mudjahid.

At 15:30 WIB, Plenary Session XI will discuss “Energy Security and Governance of Energy and Mineral Resources for the Prosperity of the People”. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia will be a speaker alongside Arcandra Tahar.

Meanwhile, Plenary Session XII at 16:30 WIB will raise the theme “Strengthening the Sustainable Economy and International Business Competitiveness”. The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, is scheduled to share his views alongside Sandiaga Uno.

One of the agendas expected to draw significant attention is Plenary Session XIII at 19:30 WIB. This session will discuss the “Consolidation of Sharia Economic and Financial Ideas” as well as “Law Enforcement on Business Competition and Supervision of MSME Partnerships Amidst National Economic Dynamics”. The Chairman of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), Anggito Abimanyu, and the Chairman of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), Gopprera Panggabean, are scheduled to be speakers.
