REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON – The flow of vehicles heading towards Cirebon via the Cipali Toll Road on the second day of Eid al-Fitr remained busy, Sunday (21/3/2026). Even slowdowns occurred at several points due to the high volume of vehicles.

Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated that based on data from 00.00 to 19.00 WIB, around 49,000 vehicles passed through Cikopo towards Cirebon.

“That traffic volume increased by about 9.4 percent compared to the same period yesterday,” said Ardam.

In the opposite direction, around 23,000 vehicles passed through Cikopo towards Jakarta. This figure also increased significantly by about 120 percent compared to the same period yesterday.

Overall, Ardam continued, the traffic volume on the Cipali Toll Road increased by about 30.8 percent compared to the same period yesterday.

Return Flow Preparations

Ardam stated that the return flow is estimated to begin on Monday (23/3/2026). His side has prepared several anticipatory measures, including the addition of traffic signs if traffic engineering is carried out, provision of rubber cones, and intensive coordination with the police.

In addition, Astra Tol Cipali has also prepared a rest area management scheme, including the implementation of a situational open-close system based on parking capacity. This is to maintain smooth traffic flow around the rest areas.

“Road users are urged to utilise rest areas outside the toll gates if the rest area capacity is full. With the closed transaction system, toll fees remain the same even if road users exit and re-enter the toll road,” he emphasised.
