Second Batch of National Internship Programme Launched with 46,160 Participants

Manpower Minister Yassierli, alongside Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, launched the first batch of the second wave of the National Internship Programme (MagangHub) in Jakarta on Tuesday, with 46,160 participants enrolled. Yassierli stated that this initial batch is part of a broader target of 150,000 participants for the National Internship Programme in 2026. He noted that participants will receive online soft skills training as part of the programme. The minister emphasised that the internship scheme is a component of the government’s economic stimulus efforts, expressing confidence that it will assist industries in meeting their needs while helping participants find employment and boosting national purchasing power. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed the programme’s second year aims to recruit 150,000 participants, with the subsequent batches of 50,000 each to be opened by the Manpower Ministry in September and the following months. The Manpower Ministry selected the 46,160 participants from a pool of 732,483 registrants through a process involving requirements checks, application submissions, and a final selection conducted via a plenary session, according to Darmawansyah, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development.
