Second Batch of Indonesian Nationals Evacuated from Middle East Arrives Tonight
JAKARTA — The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) announced that Indonesian nationals (WNI) evacuated in the second phase due to conflict in the Middle East are arriving in Indonesia imminently.
“The second phase of evacuation is currently underway, involving 34 WNI who will be flown to Indonesia in two waves,” said Acting Director for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens (PWNI) at Kemlu RI, Heni Hamidah, at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Central Jakarta on Friday (13 March 2026).
“The first wave, God willing, will arrive today at 18:00 WIB with 20 people, and tomorrow 14 people will arrive in Jakarta on the same schedule,” she added.
“Regarding plans for further evacuations, the Indonesian Government through the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran will continue to conduct security assessments in Iran and monitor the situation of WNI still in Iran,” she stressed.
She stated that subsequent evacuation steps will be adjusted according to developments in the field.
“The embassy will continue to communicate intensively with WNI still in Iran to obtain information about their situation at their respective locations,” Heni said.
